The role is part of the Digital and Technology team (DaTT) which provides, maintains and supports the infrastructure, telephony, network, WiFi, end-user devices, cloud capability and software across the entire Cabinet Office estate. Our user base includes the Cabinet Office, Crown Commercial Services and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the DaTT Delivery team, to learn how to lead key infrastructure-related projects to transform our internal services and develop technical delivery experience.
As an Associate Delivery Manager, you will manage multiple small to medium size agile projects, for a specific infrastructure-related product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled digital team. You’ll be adept at delivering agile projects, breaking down barriers for your team and developing plans and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.
You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking. You will work alongside a team of Delivery Managers, Business Analysts and Network Operation Engineers where there will be opportunities to shadow larger projects.
Working closely with Network Operation and Cloud service teams to deliver technical projects,
Using appropriate agile methodology, tools, and techniques, adapting the approach to deliver outcomes & iterating frequently,
Work with the Product Manager, Senior Delivery Manager and Business Analysts to define the project requirements for any given product and translate this into user stories,
Lead the collaborative planning process for projects effectively to prioritise the work that needs to be done to ensure your projects are adequately resourced with subject matter experts,
Managing a team of technical subject matter experts for small to medium size projects and ensuring your teams are motivated, collaborating and working well,
Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them,
Tracking, managing and addressing risks, issues, and dependencies,
Clearly communicate and report plans to the team, as well as technical and non-technical plans to stakeholders and suppliers, and progress using recognised agile practices.
It’s essential that you have:
Proven experience in using Agile principles in practice and using a range of Agile tools to identify delivery methods to be used,
Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and maintaining delivery momentum,
Experience in leading project teams, working independently and with external teams,
Experience in effectively managing a diverse range of stakeholder expectations including 3rd party suppliers,
Demonstrates the ability to deliver a project through the various stages of the product lifecycle from start to end,
Proven experience in using a range of communication skills to accurately communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as facilitating discussions within the team with potentially difficult dynamics,
Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure-related and/or technology projects and products (desirable).

All interviews are 90 minutes and will contain behaviour and experience questions. Scored out of 7, they will focus on the elements listed within the job description. For some roles, there will be a technical test that enables the candidate to demonstrate their approach to a hypothetical project.
Please note that this role requires SC clearance, which would normally require 5 years’ UK residency in the past 5 years. This is not an absolute requirement but supplementary checks may be required where individuals have not lived in the UK for the required period. This may mean that your security clearance (and therefore your appointment) will take longer or, in some cases, not be possible.
