The role is part of the Digital and Technology team (DaTT) which provides, maintains and supports the infrastructure, telephony, network, WiFi, end-user devices, cloud capability and software across the entire Cabinet Office estate. Our user base includes the Cabinet Office, the Department for Exiting the European Union, Crown Commercial Services and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the DaTT Delivery team, to lead key infrastructure-related projects to transform our internal services.
As Delivery Manager, you will manage multiple agile projects, for a specific infrastructure-related product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled digital team. You’ll be adept at delivering complex technical projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.
Defining project needs and feeding these into the programme/portfolio process will enable the resource to be appropriately allocated. You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.
Working closely with Network Operation and Cloud services teams to deliver technical projects,
Use the appropriate agile methodology, tools, and techniques, adapting the approach to deliver outcomes & iterating frequently,
Work with the Product Manager, Senior Delivery Manager and Business Analysts to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories,
Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process – prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team,
Build teams, working with Business Operations to ensure your teams are adequately resourced,
Ensure your teams are motivated, collaborating and working well,
Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them,
Managing and addressing risks, issues, and dependencies,
Clearly communicate and report plans to the team, as well as technical and non-technical plans to stakeholders and progress using recognised agile practices,
Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.
It’s essential that you have:
Proven experience in delivering infrastructure-related and/or technology projects and products,
Proven experience using agile and lean tools and techniques as well as Project Management to identify the delivery methods to be used,
Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity,
Proven experience in working with a technology/IT enterprise platform,
Experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams, working independently and with other teams,
Experience in effectively managing a diverse range of stakeholder expectations.

All interviews are 90 minutes and will contain behaviour and experience questions. Scored out of 7, they will focus on the elements listed within the job description. For some roles, there will be a technical test that enables the candidate to demonstrate their approach to a hypothetical project.
Please note that this role requires SC clearance, which would normally require 5 years’ UK residency in the past 5 years. This is not an absolute requirement but supplementary checks may be required where individuals have not lived in the UK for the required period. This may mean that your security clearance (and therefore your appointment) will take longer or, in some cases, not be possible.
