The role is part of the Digital and Technology team (DaTT) which provides IT business platforms, end user hardware, software and Digital solutions to the Cabinet Office users. We also provide service desk support in multi UK locations. Our role is to ensure seamless delivery and availability of IT services to endusers to help them deliver the Government agenda.
The role of the stockroom assistance is to carry out day to day tasks as directed by the Stock Controller. The Stockroom is key to ensure the efficient operation of receiving and timely issue of Cabinet Office user IT devices and deals with the all aspects of the IT product device lifecycle from receipts to disposal.
The Stockroom function requires additional resource to help maintain and improve its efficiency.
Reporting to the Stock Controller this position will assist in the manual receipt, counting and location of all incoming IT equipment and non IT equipment as delivered to the London Office location.
The Stockroom Assistant will also help as directed with ensuring the stock room is a safe place to work ensuring that all packaging is disposed of properly and that aisle ways are free from obstruction and debris.
The Stock Room assistance will also assist in any administrative duties such as asset tagging and internal department deliveries to areas such as the IT build room or other office locations.
Help prepare ticket pick lists and issue of requisitioned stock.
Main Tasks Include:
Receiving and recording Incoming stock deliveries including any delivery discrepancy reporting,
Stock Location management,
Asset Tagging and recording,
Supplier returns and disposal preparation and dispatch,
Inventory reorder point management,
Storeroom cleanliness and in tidy order
It’s essential that you have:
Previous experience working in a small but busy Stock Room environment,
Honest and trustworthy,
Ability to prioritise work,
Good arithmetical skills and numerical accuracy,
Daily transaction processing,
Good clear communication skills both verbal and written,
Ability to build and sustain relationships in existing networks.

All interviews are 90 minutes and will contain behaviour and experience questions. Scored out of 7, they will focus on the elements listed within the job description. For some roles, there will be a technical test that enables the candidate to demonstrate their approach to a hypothetical project.
Please note that this role requires CTC clearance, which would normally require 3 years’ UK residency in the past 3 years. This is not an absolute requirement but supplementary checks may be required where individuals have not lived in the UK for the required period. This may mean that your security clearance (and therefore your appointment) will take longer or, in some cases, not be possible.
