Thank you for your interest in working for the Cabinet Office Digital & Technology Team.
Positioned at the very heart of government, the Cabinet Office offers a unique perspective on the world and how it works. Its purpose is to:
- maintain the integrity of the Union
- co-ordinate the security of the realm and sustain a flourishing democracy
- support the design and implementation of HM Government’s policies and the Prime Minister’s priorities
- and to ensure the delivery of the finest public services by attracting and developing the best public servants and improving the efficiency of government
The Digital and Technology Team sits under the Chief Operating Officer and reports into the CDIO. Our user base (c.14,000) runs across the Cabinet Office, the Department for Exiting the European Union, Crown Commercial Services and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
We provide, maintain and support the infrastructure, telephony, network, WiFi, end user devices, cloud capability and software across the entire estate.
We have offices in London, Norwich, Newcastle and Liverpool.
You will join a dynamic team using modern technologies and methods to deliver user focused services. The team is highly skilled, with a broad range of technology expertise, and able to provide a full design, build and operate capability.
The technologies deployed and approach used are a first of their kind for a major government department anywhere in the world.
As we continue to evolve, the goal now is to provide an even better service to our users via a major refresh of the technologies we currently use. This will involve significant change and technical challenge as we migrate even further into a cloud-first service model.
We are committed to recognising excellence and achievement and so offer competitive remuneration for people who choose to work for us. Your success is our success and we foster an environment where ideas can flourish and effort is rewarded.
Our commitment to our people is to provide ongoing opportunities and incentives to learn, develop and grow, both in establishing new job-specific hard skills, as well as softer skills that help people not only as individuals, but also as managers and leaders.
Finally, we stand for something beyond simply increasing profits. We create products and services that clearly add value in the world, making it possible for us all to derive a sense of meaning from our work, and to feel a strong sense of pride working for The Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom.
Thank you again for your interest and I wish you well with your application.
